Terms of use

Draft — pending legal review. This document was prepared during development and has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. It must not be relied on until it has, and no provider data should be collected against it in production.

What Nearby is

Nearby is an information and discovery service. It lists service professionals who have submitted their own details, and lets you contact them directly.

Nearby is not a booking platform. Hepplo does not arrange, manage, supervise or guarantee any work, does not hold or process payment between you and a provider, and is not a party to any agreement you reach with a provider.

No verification, no endorsement

Listings are self-submitted. Before publication we carry out an administrative check for completeness, clarity and correct categorisation. We do not verify identity, qualifications, licences, insurance, or the quality or safety of anyone’s work. Publication is not a recommendation or endorsement.

You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring anyone: ask for references and proof of past work, agree the scope and price in writing before work starts, and be cautious about paying large amounts upfront.

If you want vetted professionals and payment held in escrow until the job is done, use the Hepplo Marketplace, which operates under separate terms.

If you list your business

You confirm that the information you submit is accurate and yours to publish, that you hold any licences your trade requires, and that you will keep your listing current. You agree to the Listing Guidelines. We may refuse, suspend or remove any listing that breaks them.

Listing on Nearby is free. There is no commission and no booking fee.

Acceptable use

You may not scrape or bulk-collect listing data, use contact details for unsolicited marketing, submit listings for businesses you do not represent, or attempt to disrupt the service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Hepplo is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or dispute arising from your dealings with a provider found through Nearby, including the quality, timeliness, legality or safety of their work, or any payment you make to them.

We provide Nearby “as is”. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, current, or that any provider is available.

Reporting problems

If a listing is inaccurate, fraudulent or inappropriate, please report it from the profile page. We review reports and may suspend or remove listings.

Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects providers, we will ask for renewed consent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
